Explain the upcoming event thoroughly with the student and give them the opportunity to ask any clarifying questions. Be prepared to constantly reassure.

As educators and mandated reporters, we must be vigilant and diligent to build relationships with students and be available to support them and connect them to necessary resources in events of trauma.
