UNTETHERED, boundaries: normal work lives inlclude forced boundaries. 8…
UNTETHERED
STRATEGIES:
1) PLAN YOUR TRAVEL AND TRIPS
HERE'S AN INTERESTING TIDBIT; WHEN PPL, LIKE THOSE KEPT IN SOLITARY CONFINMENT, KNOW THEIR SENTENCE IS NEARLY UP THEIR MOOD LIFTS IN ANTICIPATION. tHIS HAPPENS TO ME EVERTIME I HEAD FOR A NEW SPOT.
2)MIX IT UP. LEARN SOMETHING NEW. ----https://hbr.org/2018/09/to-cope-with-stress-try-learning-something-new "found evidence that engaging in learning activities can buffer workers from detrimental effects of stress including negative emotions, unethical behavior, and burnout."
ill effects of stress? Our research suggests a third option: focusing on learning. This can mean picking up a new skill, gathering new information, or seeking out intellectual challenges
it can replenish you psychologically. Viewing learning as “more work” will make it less attractive in an already stressful situation, but approaching it as a form of respite can make it more appealinghttps://firstthings.org/covid-19-why-nows-a-great-time-to-learn-something-new/https://www.lifehack.org/articles/money/25-killer-sites-for-free-online-education.html
MOVE AROUND
Move around.Movement is a great antidote to stress, and you should always incorporate short movement breaks into your work day. As little as five minutes of exercise can be enough to reduce feelings of stress and frustration.
3) CONNECT WITH THE NATURE/SUNLIGHT - GO OUTSIDE. NATURE REMINDS US THAT THE CYCLE OF LIFE GOES ON AND THIS TOO WILL PASS-------------
Sunlight: Don't be a shut in. Sunlight and darkness trigger the release of hormones. expposure to sunlight is thought to increase serotonin, which is associated with boosting mood. without sun, serotonin dips which can be associated with depression.
D: getting 5 to 15 minutes a day boosts Vitamin D. while sun can contribute to skin cancers, moderate sunlight helps has been linked to not only stress relieve but also building strong bones, cancer prevention and treatment for inflammatory disease. GOOD NEWS: WE CAN CHASE THE SUN. PLUS, nature gives us a natural clock. the sun goes up, the sun goes down. our Circadian Rhythm changes and we adapt.4) SOCIALIZE - ..SOCIALIZE, EVEN IF THAT'S ONLY ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR BY PLAYING AN ONLINE GAME WITH FRIENDS--------work environments are sometimes vibrant and social and being jerked into isolationi is a shock to the system5) DEVELOP A SCHEDULE AND WORKSPACE, EVEN IF IT'S A CUBBY IF YOU NEED TO FEEL MORE CONTROL, DEVELOP A SCHEDULE. DESIGNATE AN UNCLUTTERED WORK SPACE, TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS, UNPLUG,EVEN IF THAT'S A CUBBY SO YOU CAN PUT THE WORK . IT'S STILL THERE. LOOK AT IT. TELL IT YOU'LL E BACK TOMORROW. THEN SHUT THAT BOX.

FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE. yOU ARE NOT STUCK YOU ARE IN CONTROL

FREEDOM IS POSSIBILITY -- kIERKEGAARD--------------------FREEDOM IS POWER. THE WORD POSSIBILITY AND POWER BOTH COME FROM THE SAME LATIN ROOT WORD POSSE. WE HAVE CHOICES WHEN WE HAVE POWER: but freedom is tough. it is the nature of freedom to change. to become something different. freedom is possibility------------------"WHEN PPL REALIZE THEY ARE ACTUALLY FREE TO CHOOSE IN A SITUATION, IT CREATES ANXIETY...BECAUSE DECIDING MEANS BEING CHANGED. WE RESIST CHANGE BECAUSE CHANGE IS LOSS, EVEN ON THAT IS IN OUR BEST INTEREST." DR. sHAHRAM hESHAMT----------------------------------------------------BUT pSYCHOLOGIST mAY EQUATES PAUS TO FREEDOM. THAT IS FREEDOM IS THE CAPACITY TO PAUSE IN THE FACE OF STIMULTI AND CHOOSE OUR RESPONSE.

we normally deal with external stimuli. when we are alone, we can turn inward. you are alone with yourself and all your problems and that creaking noise that could be the wind but might also be a something more sinister. remember tom hanks in Castaway talking to the soccer ball? i do that too. normal after social isolation.. the good news is our isolation is not monotenous. we have changing scenery, weather, nature, social lives and work

BOUNDARIES It's counterintuitive, but many nomads have burnout: overworking because they have no work-life balance on the road
FREEDOM
"freedom's just another word for nothing' left to lose." K. Kristofferson and F foster "me & bobby mcgee."----------------------------------------------------at first, personal freedom is amazing. binge-watch shows, sleep in, wear pjs all day. it's a vacation mindset that can lead to a Procrastination Vortex

ISOLATION CAN BE TOUGH, EVEN IF YOU ARE AN INTROVERT. MANY STUDIES HAVE BEEN DONE ON THE EFFECTS OF ISOLATION.
WHATS NEXT?
UNTETHERED
nomads can live in an infinite present. an endless today with no future plans. NO CLOCK. NO PEOPLE. NO BOSS. AT FIRST, THIS CAN CAUSE A FEELING OF FLOATING. OF BEING UNCONNECTED OR UNTETHERED FROM EVERYTHING. BUT YOU LEARN this is not so. THERE ARE BENCHMARKS, ANTICIPATION AND TRAVEL..--i DWELL IN POSIBILITY -- EMILY dICKINSON
boundaries: normal work lives inlclude forced boundaries. 8 hours 88. you can shut down and go from one part of your day to another. Nomads don't have that
