Eye Region: The Orbit - Coggle Diagram

        Largest Branch
        
        Goes through superior oribital fissure
        
        Bifurcates into two branches
        
        Supraorbital n.
        
        Stretches out laterally and continue out of supraorbital fissure
        
        Supratrochlear n.
        
        Stretches out Medially towards trochlea
        
        Lays on top of Levator palpebrae superioris, most superior eye muscle(lifts eyelid)
        
        Superior Rectus is below LPS
      - Lacrimal
        
        Nerve and Artery go towards lacrimal gland
        
        Sends parasympathetic fibers to lacrimal gland via pterygopalatine ganglion
        
        Postganglionic fibers hitchhike with the maxillary nerve (V2) and zygomatic n.
        
        Source of preganglionic parasympathetic fibers = Facial Nerve (CN VII) !!! Do not confuse!!!
      - Nasociliary
        
        Travels medially, superior to CN II, Inferior to Superior rectus
        
        Gives off 4 branches
        
        Long Cillary n.
        
        Runs to the Cornea and carry sympathetic fibers to dilator pupillae
  - - - Enters apex of orbit, lateral to optic n.
  - - - Run from the posterior cranial fossa through the cavernous sinus
        
        Terminates at medial surface of Lateral Rectus
- - - - Produces oily substance, meibum, which prevents eye film from drying out
  - - - Lacrimal Gland
        
        Lacrimal canaliculi
        
        Nasolacrimal duct
        
        Inferior nasal concha
  - - - This mucus layer protects the nose from pollutants, micro-organisms, dust and dirt.
- - - - At floor of the orbit, anterior to Inferior Oblique
    - - Inferior to lacrimal n. + artery
    - - Inferior to Levator Palepebrae Superioris

    - - CTR is a ring of fibrous tissue surrounding the optic n. at the entrance of the apex

        Nasociliary nerve (branch of ophthalmic nerve)
        
        Inferior division of the oculomotor nerve (CNIII)
        
        Superior division of the oculomotor nerve (CNIII)
        
        Abducens nerve (CNVI)
        
        Optic nerve!!

    - - Attaches to anterior and medial floor of the orbit
  - - - Lateral Rectus innervated by CN 6, Superior Oblique by CN 4, Rest by CN 3
