Difference in terminologies then and now

Then: Any person from a different town, village, city, or kingdom.

Now: Any person from a different country or a continent.

Hindustan 🇮🇳

Then: In 13th-century Minhaj-i-Siraj (a chronicler) used the term Hindustan to describe the lands of Punjab, Haryana, and the lands between the Ganga, and the Yamuna. Or simply the area of the Delhi Sultanate.

Early 16th Century Babur 👊 Used the term Hindustan to describe the flora and fauna and the culture of the inhabitants of the subcontinent

Now: The term Hindustan means the whole of india

Paper was more costly in the 13th century and more easily available in the 14th century.

Historians still depend on manuscripts architecture coins etc to acquire information on histories.
