Assessment
Life threatening
s&s of pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, syncope, hypotension
Pulse rate & rhythm
Cardiac assessment
Obtain history
Current meds
Normal HR
Amount of physical activity (active people have lower HR)
PLAN: Vitals signs back to normal limits
Monitor apical pulse (most accurate)
Supplement is oxygen
Cardiac monitor
Meds: Atropine
Assess before: HR
Therapeutic response: increase HR
Side effects (this is an anticholingeric)
cannot pee
cannot spit
cannot poop
cannot see
Diagnosis
Medical (prove)
HR<60 BPM with an ECG/EKG
Nursing diagnosis
Decreased cardiac output
Low HR will decrease circulating blood
Hypotension (review hypotension ADPIE)
Hypoxic
EVALUATION: Vital signs (specially HR) WNL???
