Itonics, Criteria list, Finding stuff in JNJ, IdeaScale, Sharepoint -…
Itonics
Pros
- Users are able to sort all ideas in Itonics into 3 categories based on what kind of entry they're trying to create or are looking for: Trend, Technology, Risk
Risk
Ideas submitted under "Risk" are not really ideas, they're stuff a user should look out for while considering an idea.
-
-
Trend
Political and economic dynamics and social trends in the entire macro-world that may affect business opportunities at JnJ.
For example, one sub section in the Trends section can be "Environment."
This "Environment" sub-section would contain trends such as "Green Manufacturing", "Alternative mobility", and "Alternative Energy". Basically any trend that pertains to the environment.
Users have the ability to rank their entries as they post them. Pased on these ratings, it is placed within the radar. The closer it is to the center of the radar, the higher the potential impact of the idea.
-
When users click on an idea within any radar (whether it be Trend, Technology, Risk, etc.), they can immediately see how that idea is connected to other ideas within that radar.
Users who are looking for other people's ideas would then browse the 3 sections to ignite the necessary creativity to assess the trends, technologies, and risks listed into projects, products, and services.
Cons
Contract only lasts 3 years. I'm not too familiar with how long licenses for other technologies usually last, so 3 years may or may not be too frequent.
Contact: Kyle Dellapietro (TLDP who is familiar with Itonics, come up with success criteria and he can validate them.)

Ease of use
Sharepoint: Already massively adopted by JnJ. With documentation available online, so ease of use shouldn't be that much of an issue.
Itonics: Already somewhat adopted by JnJ, but not much documentation online on how to use it. Will require some training if adopted further.

Come up with a way to get people subconciously used to the tool. The value in here is maintenance. "I'm trying to do something, what else is out there and how do I find it?"
Email venkie this week if we get content. He may cancel since he's busy, but we're not busy so we'd still like to meet

josh and Nirav are working on different innovations, what indicators will indicate what already has been deployed?

IdeaScale
Pros
Supposedly easy to use (according to user reviews), but I'll have to demo it to see how much better/worse it is than Itonics or Sharepoint
Cons
To what extent are each of the technologies already adopted by JnJ? Itonics and SharePoint seem to be already used to some extent within JnJ, but what about IdeaScale?
Sharepoint
Cons
No inbuilt uniformity: people can name files and structure their ideas however they see fit. This may make comparing two related ideas difficult if they are structured completely differently.
