Why did disarmament failed?
During 1930 the League of Nations had a lot of pressure.
The germans founded really unfair that they had been forced to disarm during WII while the other countries didn't.
Also many countries spent more money than they usually did in armaments.
There was many disagreement in the League
League got paralized
No one was serious about the disarmament.
Germany
Germany got disarmed while the other nations didnt.
But the Germans had been in the League for six years and it was unfair that they were disarmed
Hilter rearmed them even though they had promised they would disarm.
They made proposes of equality but they all got rejected
They left the League of Nations and they started to rearm publicly
United Kingdom
The UK refused to get a lower level of armament
The UK wasn't willing to sacrifice their own interest to the League to success.
They also considered that the punishment towards Germany was too much.
France
France, as the UK wasn't willing to sacrifice their own interest to the League to succeed.
France was also afraid that they could get attacked easily if they had less armament.

They didn't consider to disarm
It didnt help that France and UK separte.

When the Manchurian crisis happened the League realized they had to do something.
The members of the League agreed to achieve disarmament
They agreed to
Stop bombing in civilizan populations
Prohibit chemical warfare
Reduce soldiers and weapons
