How does the Japanese media (mainstream news articles) characterize migrant workers - where the mistreatment is.
The tactics of recruitment that single out Japanese people from foreigners (and give them privilege over others).
I can get this from the recruitment policies and find recruitment practices regarding race in Japan (if possible).
I will look at the news media at the way Japan recruits people (especially foreigners) and see how Japanese people are generally given privilege over others.
The way that workers in Japan are being represented in the media - more Japanese people or more foreigners? What kind of jobs do each worker tend to do as displayed on the media?
I will look at job hunting magazines in order to see what kind of jobs are mainstreamed towards different people of race.
Meso
What is the process of socialization that companies tend to do when recruiting people in Japan? (shukatsu rules and such)

Micro
How Okinawans struggle to find work in mainland Japan (and not just Okinawans, but Zainichi Koreans and Ainu). Are there still problems today regarding this?
I will look at how the Japanese news media portray Okinawans and other groups. Are they seen as dangerous?
I will look at the media that talks about how Okinawans and Ainus feel as if they are being mistreated in jobs in mainland Japan.
How are ‘normal’ Japanese people more privileged in jobs than others who are mixed race and not completely Japanese? How do people of different races feel as if they are being mistreated when it comes to being hired and working in Japan?

The ‘successful’ people in their job - many of the times I hear people do not study much in college before working full time -- is it because they have the Japanese privilege that they are able to do this? What about migrant workers? How much do they need to work and achieve in order to be accepted into a job in Japan?
I will look at what are the qualifications of foreigners when it comes to working in Japan versus that to normal Japanese people.
I will find the above in shukatsu magazines for foreigners and shukatsu magazines for Japanese people. Then, I will compare and contrast the two to see the differences and gaps between them.
How are people of ‘different shades’ being mistreated when it comes to them finding jobs in Japan? Is there even such things as ‘shadism’ and different levels of treatment to people of different kinds of shades in skin color?
-
I will look at how the media portrays Japanese ‘successful’ people in workplaces - and what their shades are.
