Distinction - Coggle Diagram
Distinction
- Making distinction really is about learning. It's about gathering information and knowing what's similar can save you time in learning the concepts.
- If I have already learned the concept of the three varying strengths of a punch I don't need to go through that when playing Killer Instinct I already learned that at Street fighter. Learning what makes concepts different allows you to understand how to apply it most effectively. I understand that light attacks are quicker than heavy attacks so I would use light attacks to create an opening and heavy attack to do more damage.
- Making distinctions is just knowing what the concept is when to use it and how.
- That's the basic structure of the tree but it can get a lot more deep and detailed.
- In Killer Instinct you need to know how to break a combo before you can get into counter breakers and then you got to make these distinctions out when to counter break. But there can be multiple when's to counter break so you now you got to think about how to get to that position. Like throwing a heavy or pay attention to when a combo break how you can form your combos to be humble broken
- Distinctions can also be used for emotional work.
- the reason why we have these beliefs it's because of the info given to us by the world and we attach a meaning to it.
- If we can make a very shallow distinction out of anything we're just going to have this generalized concept that can't be applied effectively. That could mean it could harm us if we apply it without understanding the nuances.
- I had this belief that no one like me and that made me very bitter. I based this on my experience in the junior theater class. but the nuances the distinctions I missed where that everyone has a different mindset of how they perceive the world and their mindset just cause them to not like me. Not because I wasn't charismatic enough I just can't change their mind. I've also failed to consider that there are some people that actually do like me.
