Since the new inventions, such as the telephone, radio, newspapers and magazines made a noticiable change in life, The era of modernism was a "break" with the past making different movements to succed and being this era the era of the New.
The Lost Generation
Before the World War I began, America had a great optimism, being closer to Europe emerged some great changes in literature. But as a result of the end of the World War I, a tragic failure occured, killing the optimism spirit leading to isolation again. But the American's didn't give up so easly, Americans entered in a decade of prosperity and exhibitionism.
Modernism in Literature
Modernist literature expanded artists and movements. Such as many writers made their poems, novels and plays new and different.
