Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for PaRefChem
Assemble Plan & Identify Scope
The top priority of PaRefChem will be to enact the steps outlined in this DRP to bring all of the
the organization’s groups and departments back to business-as-usual as quickly as possible.
Example of top priority, preventing the loss of the organization’s resources such as hardware, data and physical IT assets.
The PaRefChem DRP will take the technology areas into consideration as the scope of this DRP.

The DRP will be updated once a year or any time a major system update or upgrade is performed, whichever is more often.
Request information and updates from other employees and departments within the organization in order to complete this task.
Testing
PaRefChem is committed to ensuring that this DRP is functional where the DRP should be tested every
annum in order to ensure that it is still effective.
PaRefChem can do DR Rehearsal.
Team members verbally go through the specific steps as documented in the plan to confirm effectiveness, identify gaps, bottlenecks or other weaknesses.
This test provides the opportunity to review a plan with a larger subset of people, allowing the team to make appropriate changes to the plan.
Appoint Emergency Contacts
List out the possible issues which may lead to activation of the DRP.
Total loss of power
Fire and explosion of building
Flooding on the premises
Identify two possible evacuation assembly points.
Far end of main parking lot
Parking lot of company across the street
Activate Emergency Response Team (ERT) when incident occurs.
ERT will respond immediately to a potential disaster and call emergency services.
ERT will assess the extent of the disaster and its impact on the business, data center, etc.
ERT will decide which elements of the DR Plan should be activated.
ERT will ensure employees are notified and allocate responsibilities and activities as required.
Assign Roles and Responsibilities
Network Team
The Network Team will be responsible for assessing damage specific to any network infrastructure and for provisioning data and voice network connectivity including WAN, LAN, and any telephony connections internally within the organization as well as telephony and data connections with the outside world.
Server Team
The Server Team will be responsible for providing the physical server infrastructure required for the organization to
run its IT operations and applications in the event of and during a disaster.
Application Team
The Applications Team will be responsible for ensuring that all organization applications operate as required to
meet business objectives in the event of and during a disaster.
Data & Back Ups Location
Prepare a list of all the data in organization in order of their critically.

This information will be used to locate and restore data in the event of a disaster.
Discuss the location of all the organization’s servers, backups and offsite backups and list what information is stored on each of these data.
Restore Technology Functionality
This section will contain all of the information that describes the manner in which PaRefChem’s information system will be recovered.
It is important to include all Standard Operating Procedures documents, run-books, network diagrams, software format information etc. in this section.
Create a detailed system architecture diagram to show all of the organization's systems and their locations are clearly indicated.
Prepare the list for each IT infrastructure or system in order of their criticality, such as routers, firewalls, serves and more.
