Determine what you think the students difficulty and attempt to implement modifications/differentiation techniques. Document these interventions and if the problem persists seek assistance.
Inform the Head of Studies of the school.
Fill out appropriate paperwork to request a meeting with family and potential future investigation of the student.
Organize a meeting with the parents or guardians to discuss the need for intervention/special attention.
Did the parents agree to diagnostic investigation?
No
Yes
Document any meetings or interventions you have completed, continue to document any behaviors should the issue arise again.
Organize to have the student observed and evaluated by a school psychologist and school specialist (could be for a particular disorder or just general special needs).
Did the specialist determine it was appropriate to move forward?
Yes
No
Create a personalized plan for the student based on the diagnosis, apply any recommended modifications.
Document any meetings or interventions you have completed, continue to document any behaviors should the issue arise again.
Incorporate the student into the class in the usual way.
Monitor student progress in a documented and clear way.
Create an intervention team for that student consisting of administrators, family, teachers, specialists, and the school psychologist
