Data collection technique can be divided into three levels
1º - direct methods mean that the researcher is in direct contact with the subject and collects data in real time
2nd - Indirect methods in which the researcher directly collects raw data without actually interacting with the subjects during data collection
3rd - Independent analysis of work artifacts, when already available and, sometimes the compiled data is used

Reading and Reviewing Case Study Research
Reader’s Perspective
The reader must
Quality of the case study
Finding the information of relevance
Get the findings from the study
Empirical studies have a very low presence in the field of computer science
Real-life complexity involving human beings
Case studies do not yield the same results, for example, causal relationships as controlled experiments, but provide a deeper understanding of the phenomena under study
Case studies are suitable for many types of research in higher education, as the study objectives are contemporary phenomena, difficult to study in isolation
Main types of triangulation
Data triangulation
methodological triangulation
Theory triangulation
