Nervous System in Humans - Coggle Diagram
Nervous System in Humans
Neurone
Contains the same basic parts as any animal cell
Structure especially adapted to carry messages very quickly
Axon
Long thin fibres
Enable Neurons to perform there role
Dendrites
Pick up electrical signals from other neurones lying nearby
Nerve Impulse
Meyelin
Leyer of fat and protein where nerves fibres are wrapped to
Insulates the nerves fibers, so the impulse is faster
Central Nervous System (CNS)
Made Up of the brain and the spinal cord and neurons
Peripheral Nervous System
Made up of nerves and receptors
Receptor detects a stimulus it send an electrical impulse to the brain and the spinal cord
Main role is to coordinate the messages traveling trhough the nervous system
The brain and spinal cord receive the impulse and send an impulse on to the appropriate effector
