Home screen

Information screen
Several topics to choose from including; "Saving Money", "Growing Plants", "Impacts of Our Waste" and "Australian Wildlife"Note: Flash cards will have a button where clicking will take you to the next one Help instructions available
- Saving Money: Provides a sequence of flash cards which show different ways you can save money through eco friendly methods.
- Growing Plants: Provides a sequence of flash cards that show the process of a plant going, and also suggests useful to know tips
- Impacts of Our Waste: Provides a sequence of flash cards that feature an "eye opening photo" in addition to a statistic. This informs users on the impact of our waste on the environment around us.
- Australian Wildlife: Provides a sequence of flash cards that feature that feature information about Australian animals and environments

Help instructions available
- 3 random objects will be generated out of an existing pool and the user will have to type in which bin they think the object should go in. Answering with the correct bin grants +10 points, the worst bin takes away -5 points and all other incorrect answers are -1 points.
- Putting the bin in the wrong bin will give you a pop up which states what material the bin contains
- Points shown are in the end in the form of a star rating and the number of points scored.
Calculator screen
There will be a choice given between 2 types of calculators, a 10 cent can refund calculator and a water saving calculatorHelp instructions available
- 10 cent can refund calculator: Will feature a can with a plus and minus button on it. When the plus or minus buttons are pressed, it will add or subtract 10 cents to a box "Refund Total" which shows the user a running total of their inventory. There will be a small number next to each type of can/bottle to indicate how many the user has selected.
- Water saving calculator: Will feature a text box to input the amount of length spent in a shower. The calculator will then show an image based on how much water was used and will display how much money the shower would cost, and provide a comparison on to the cost of a 5 minute shower.
Key algorithms
- Rubbish bin game which allocates different amount of points based on the correctness of your answer.
- Rubbish bin game where user types in their answer and the code assigns points based on correctness of answer. Points are shown at the end via a star system + total point amount
- Flash cards which are shown in a sequence and transition when a button is clicked
- 10 cent can calculator where clicking on a plus or minus button will add or subtract from a sub total with a number above the can will indicate how many the user has selected. The refund amount is calculated
- Shower calculator where calculations are made to show cost based on how long the shower is. Comparisons are made to a standard shower. An image is displayed based on how much water the user inputted.

- A feature for some areas where they will come to you and pick up your waste
- App is fairly easy to navigate
Weaknesses
- Security concerns with pickup feature as they know your location
- Overwhelming and unintuitive design as it has too many types of waste, not usable for all ages
- Lacks interactive educational content in order to promote correct recycling
- Poor colour scheme, meaning it has poor learnability
- Lacks water and can calculators
- Does not follow CUE as significant images did not have a corresponding label below them and there is not an appropriate colour contrast present

- Features a lot of information but is simplified through a search bar
- Provides a calendar to ensure user knows when collection days are
- Utilises images in addition to text in order to appeal to all ages
- Follows the requirements of CUE (appropriate colour contrast, labelled images, appropriate text font, simple English)
- Functionality to personalise experience for users by entering their location
Weaknesses
- Security concerns as they know your location
- Lacks water and can calculators

- Lack the tabs at the bottom of the screen to allow for easy change between screens (slightly hard to navigate)
Impacts
- Usage of more eco friendly products leads to a greener environment which causes the creation of less greenhouse gases
- Less waste and rubbish helps preserve the ecosystems around us, allowing for the continuity of many species. Potentially leads to the stabilisation of endangered species
- Better storage and recycling of trash as people are more knowledgeable on what to put in which bin/ the best way to dispose of various types of waste. This leads to more efficient disposal of the waste
- Inspires younger generation to be passionate for the environment. This solidifies the sustenance of our world in the future
- Users will be able to save money via the 10 cent cans and being educated on the cost of showers. This leads to less water wastage, more recycling and even more saving money for the user.
