"Allowing people to access MAiD is a slippery slope. First, it's people who are extremely ill and want to die, then it's killing sick kids." We have already distinguished between the two major forms of euthanasia, passive and active, and involuntary versus voluntary. MAiD is a choice made only by a competent adult, and they cannot be pressured or forced into choosing this for their end-of-life. Evidence shows that advancing euthanasia laws creates greater public control and transparency in end-of-life care, and greater ethical requirements for physicians which they, statistically, meet more frequently than before euthanasia was legalized and covert.
