The main theme is revenge and sadness.
This contrast emphasises her emotional stability, which is very unstable.
This contrast fuels her insanity and causes her to become confused.
'strangle' has connotations of murder and death.
She is capable of a lot because of her vengeful driven mind set.
She is dangerous.
She wants her husband dead.
She is crazy.
'cawing Nooooo at the wall'
She could be crazy due to her isolation from the real world and society.
'cawing' has connotations of being animalistic because that is what a crow does.
Technique - zoomorphism.
The writer has done this because it emphasises her unusual behaviour.
It could also suggest that she sees something on the walls, which also shows she is crazy.
She is emotionally unstable.
'Not a day since then I haven't wished him dead.'
Suggests she is really mad at her husband, and this vengeful attitude makes her dangerous.
Hyperbole.
'dead' has connotations of pain and suffering.
This suggests that she wants her husband to suffer, just like she did when he jilted her at the altar.
This made her mad.
