Rainfall frequency (probability of occurrence of a certain amount of rain falling in a certain period of time.)
Rainfall intensity (rate at which rain falls, in mm/h) --Rainfall intensity= total amount of rainwater (mm) / duration of rainfall (h)
Rainfall intensities in order: Drizzle --> Shower --> Tropical storm --> Tropical cyclones (typhoons and hurricanes)
Snowmelt
Define: surface runoff from melting snow into rivers. (usually in spring : March-April (Northern Hemisphere)

Sudden rise of the sea level in which water is piled against a coastline beyond normal high-tide conditions.
