You die a warrior.” This highlights the idea of respect in a gang it’s the ultimate goal, if your respected then your remembered even if you die.

It’s important for you to tell yours” The journals reveal the violence the students have seen, it represents that some students aren’t scared of violence, and others are afraid. The journals tell us that Marcus has seen lots of violence so he freezes, Jamal like violence if it’s for his gang so he fights.
