BTSS 8 : Productivity & Time Management
To be successful you must be able to make 3 statements all the time
1: I was wrong - admit you were wrong when you realize it
2: I made a mistake - have the courage to admit it
3: I changed my mind
Always be punctual
For every experience write down
1: What did I learn (positive things)
2: What would I do differently if I had this to do over
How to double your productivity
You become what you think about most of the time
Change the way you think about time change your life
Your average income will be the average income of the 5 people you spend the most time with
Every minute spent in planning saves 10 minutes in the action and results
The law of the excluded alternative -
doing 1 thing means not doing anything else for that period of time - to do 1 thing is to choose not to do everything else
Increase your return on energy - mental, emotional, physical
Its OK to do things of low value - only once you have done all the things of high value
Positive mental attitude - most successful people have a positive mental attitude
Law of control - you feel happy about your life to the degree to which you feel you are in control of it
Do fewer things - work only on the most valuable
some of the things you do pay a lot
most of the things you do don't pay at all
Consequences
-
Something is important to the degree which it has high consequences for doing it or not or doing it on time or not
Look at all your actions and decide if there are consequences to doing it - do the actions with the highest consequences first and best
4 ways you can change your life
2: Do less of other things
Less of the things that are unproductive, less valuable, useless
3: Start doing something new
Do the new better things until they become the habit
1: Do more of some things
the things which are giving you the best results
4: Stop doing somethings all together
Stop doing the least useful things
Mastermind concept
Aim for 5 people - invite them and ask to meet once a week and talk about business or sales or read a book etc.
The law of 3
Make a list of everything you do
If i could only do
1 thing
all day long, what would contribute the most value
If i could only do
2 things
all day long, what 2nd thing would contribute the most value
If i could only do
3 things
all day long, what 3rd thing would contribute the most value
3 THINGS CONTRIBUTE 90% OF THE VALUE OF ALL YOUR ACTIONS
Zero based thinking
Is there anything that knowing what I now know i wouldn't get into again if I had to do it again
(KWINK)
**
Once you've made decision take action on it**
1: Relationships
eg. staff member
Once you have made a decision take action on it
2: Any activity in your life or business
marketing / sales / anything
do it every 6 months
3: Investments of any kind
eg. money, emotion, time
If you have a problem the likely hood is that someone else has had that same problem and solved it
Ask them
read about it
watch the video
3 questions in any business situation
1: What am i trying to do?
2: How are you trying to do it?
3: Could there be a better way?
The quality of your time management determines the quality of your life
Most valuable asset?
Earning potential - spend your life increasing this
Most valuable resource?
Time
MAKE A LIST EVERY MORNING of all the tasks for the day
Then ask if I could only do 1 thing before I had to leave for a month - do that until it is complete
Then 2nd most important
Then 3rd most important etc.
