Energy Question
What are the positives if we transition to renewable energy?
Environmental and economic benefits of using renewable energy include:
Generating energy that produces no greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and reduces some types of air pollution
Diversifying energy supply and reducing dependence on imported fuels
Creating economic development and jobs in manufacturing, installation, and more
Renewable resources won’t run out, which cannot be said for many types of fossil fuels – as we use fossil fuel resources, they will be increasingly difficult to obtain, likely driving up both the cost and environmental impact of extraction.

how we have used energy since the industrial revolution.
The Industrial Revolution was a period of major industrialization and innovation that took place during the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain and quickly spread throughout the world.
The main features involved in the Industrial Revolution were technological, socioeconomic, and cultural.
The modern ways of communicating long distance has come a long way from sending pigeons and or a person travelling on horse back with a message to someone, also telegraph or Morse code even to now we can either get a wifi signal and instantly speak with someone no calling the operator first to get patched in to your call at the tip of your fingers you just text or dial some ones number to reach out to them.
What are the negatives if we transition to renewable energy?
Higher upfront cost
While you can save money by using renewable energy, the technologies are typically more expensive upfront than traditional energy generators. To combat this, there are often financial incentives, such as tax credits and rebates, available to help alleviate your initial costs of renewable technology.
Intermittency
Though renewable energy resources are available around the world, many of these resources aren’t available 24/7, year-round. Some days may be windier than others, the sun doesn’t shine at night, and droughts may occur for periods of time. There can be unpredictable weather events that disrupt these technologies. Fossil fuels are not intermittent and can be turned on or off at any given time.
Geographic limitations
The United States has a diverse geography with varying climates, topographies, vegetation, and more. This creates a beautiful melting pot of landscapes but also means that there are some geographies that are more suitable for renewable technologies than others. For example, a large farm with open space may be a great place for a residential wind turbine or a solar energy system, while a townhome in a city covered in shade from taller buildings wouldn’t be able to reap the benefits of either technology on their property. If your property isn’t suitable for a personal renewable energy technology, there are other options. If you’re interested in solar but don’t have a sunny property, you can often still benefit from renewable energy by purchasing green power or enrolling in a community solar option.
The economy (how has the world's economy grown due to our usage of non renewable energy.
The costs of continuing on our current energy path are steep. American consumers and businesses already spend roughly $700 billion to $1 trillion each year on coal, oil and natural gas, and suffer the incalculable costs of pollution from fossil fuels through damage to our health and environment
Why has there been a transition from non renewable energy to renewable energy:
we need renewable energy because with non-renewable energy it takes a long period of time to actually get fosil fuels where as with renewable energy that takes a sufficient amount of time and is resources that we can use everday like sunlight and water or wind.
How has our knowledge of the Earth’s energy resources changed over time?
The types of energy used in the United States have changed over time. The change has been driven by advances in technology, energy resource discoveries, energy prices, social pressures and other factors. The only constant is that the amount of energy used has increased steadily over time.
