Context 3 - A fix for everyday life
Where? (Location)
Garden / Kitchen / Shops
putting bins out - when cooking - when getting things
when gardening - when eating - when paying
when socialising - when preparing food - when getting around the isles
In what location could this occur?
Who? (End Users)
Elderly People --> can't move heavy things
Dog Owners --> tall dog can't bend down to eat / drink
Disabled People --> need an easier way to access things that are high up
Cooks (At Home) --> Pouring ingredients precisely
Who may need a fix for everyday life?
My Next Steps
To explore potential problems, ideas and opportunities by carrying out primary and secondary research. Primary research will include interviews/questionnaires with end users. Secondary research will include internet research of current products etc.
When? (What situations)
When accessing high shelves
When pouring ingredients
When picking up heavy things
When carrying heavy things
When feeding the dog
What the user is doing?
Why? (What are the problems)
Examples of current problems in products that would help someone in life
getting things off of high shelves
getting heavy things across the garden
pouring messy things
lifting heavy things
What? (What is the product)
Dispenser for coffee granules and other powders and stuff
What are some fixes for everyday life?
arm to help disabled people in wheelchairs reach stuff
an adjustable dog bowl holder that can be cranked up so elderly people don't have to bend down to pick the bowl up/down
a sleigh that means elderly people can slide heavy things over the garden easily
Overall Intention
The purpose of these three mind maps is to explore each of the three contexts set. By analysing each, I can generate multiple ideas and later on start to research the end users needs and decide on my product.
