Disadvantages of MALL
Leearners have difficulty in understanding the course instruction, resulting in a loss of motivation Correa, 2009)
Many L2 learners might face their limited understanding of classroom lectures & materia;s Huang, 2004)
Advantages of MALL
Technology allows flexible time & place for learners & an influencial instrument for teaching content (Donelly & Berge, 2006)
Technology allows learners to improve their understanding & learning of thhe lectuuters & materials (Huang, 2012)
Technollogy allows learners to review the course materials at their convenience which is helpful for learners
The study was conducted with 45 second level male students at the scientiific section of the Preparatory year in King Saud University

The main podcast selected for the present study was Grammar Girl quick & dirty tips for better writing
Podcast series provided diversities of everyday life issues with grammar rules & vocabulary expressions
- Learners imprived their listening & writing skills, enhanced their L2 learning process and turned into engaged learners
Technology
Podacasts can be transferred & downloaded to various types of electronic portable devices & can be watched and listened to at any time & any place (Evans,2008)
Innovative teaching tool
Podcasting technology is an effective method for teachers to deliver valuable instructions to their students & improve learning process (Beheler et.al, 2007)
Perceptions & attitudes
Anusiene (2009) explored learners' perceptions of listening podcasts & found that 76% of the subjects showed positive sttitudes
Chan et al. (2011) explored the effect of 2 podcasts of chinese & Korean languages & found posiitive attitudes towards this tool

Pre-test & post-test

Later post-test was administered to both groups to write an essay with short paagraph about general topics.
Questionnaire
Another research instrument was queasinnaire with 19 items that measured on a 5-point likert type scale
Validity & realibility
The instruments were reviewed by 5 teachers to confirm validity and the reliability for test was Cronbach Alpha 0.902 and for questionnaire was Cronbach Alpha 0.89
Procedure
The entire study was conducted within 6 weeks, participsnts of both groups were given tests then writing material
Whats-up group was created & students in the experimental group were shown how to access, play & save podcasts to their mobiles

Results
Pre-test &post-test for control group_2.31033-2.4138 Pre-test & post-test for exp group: 2.3462-3.6152. Independent samples of t-test results: exp.group-3.62&for control group-2.41
Conclusion
The present study casted some light on the effectiveness of podcasting lectures in teaching writing, learning English grammar & vocabulary, and may be successfully aplied for reading & speaking courses
