Animal Cells
Organelles
Ribosomes
-
They produce protein. Protein is very important as it is what makes up most of the genetic material (DNA).
-
Nucleus
-
Inside it, there is the nucleolus where ribosomes can be produced
Cytoplasm
Jelly-like material that surrounds all the internal cell structures and it's found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes.
Golgi body
Roles include receiving items from the transported vesicles that pinched off the ER, enzymes that can modify molecules it may receive, and sorting materials.
It determines where to send those molecules (that it has received) such as sending them to cell membrane so that they can be secreted.
-
Mitochondria
-
It runs on glucose. Mitochondria are like the power plants of the cell, they keep it running.
Cell Membrane
It is semipermeable, which means it only lets certain molecules come in or out

Golgi Apparatus
Roles include receiving items from the transported vesicles that pinched off the ER, enzymes that can modify molecules it may receive, and sorting materials.
It determines where to send those molecules (that it has received) such as sending them to cell membrane so that they can be secreted.

Specialised Cells
In multicellular organisms, cells work together to perform all of the functions necessary for life. Each type of cell has its own special job to do. This is known as cell specialization.
Each type of cell needs different structures to carry out its job effectively. Cells vary widely with respect to: shape, size, number of organelles, and the types of organelles

Cell Theory
all living things are composed of one or more cells; the cell is the basic unit of life; and new cells arise from existing cells.
