Summative
DEFINITION: Summative assessments are to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark.
6 Weeks Exam: Student takes an exam at the end of the six weeks so that they are able to show what they learned for the unit.

Diagnostic
DEFINITION: A diagnostic assessment is a form of pre-assessment that teachers use to evaluate students' strengths, weaknesses, knowledge and skills before instruction.
Pre-Assessment for the lesson: Students will take a pre-assessment before the lesson to tell the teacher what they know and don't know.
KWL: Students are able to tell what they know, what they want to learn, and what they learned.
Performance
DEFINITION: Performance assessment requires students to perform a task rather than select an answer from an already made test or list of questions.

Formative
DEFINITION: Formative assessments monitor student learning to provide feedback to help teachers improve their teaching. They help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, and help teachers address problems immediately.
Kahoot Quiz: Students will have a end of unit quiz so that they are able to provide information for the teacher to improve teaching.
Exit Ticket: Students will have to fill out an exit ticket after a lesson explaining two things that they learned and a question that they might still have about the lesson.
Interim/Benchmark
DEFINITION: Interim/Benchmark assessments are used to track student mastery so future instruction is guided and students are prepared for summative exams or state testing.
