Assessments
Summative
Definition- Summative assessments are used at the end of a unit and evaluate student learning. Unlike formative assessments, summative assessments hold higher grade point value.
Final project- Final product that demonstrates student learning. Students create an experiment that tests a force and complete the scientific process.

Interim/Benchmark
Definition- Interim/Benchmark assessments are used to track student progress and learning. These assessments also determine future success in assessments.

Formative
Definition- Formative assessments are low stakes, which means they should hold low grade point value. For the most part these assessments are used to get feedback from the students and make at the moment modifications or adjustments to the instruction.

Quiz- Students will use Quizlet games and activities to assess themselves on the content. The teacher can collect this data and make modifications or adjustments.
Diagnostic
Definition- Diagnostic assessments provide teachers with information over student knowledge and misconceptions over the content before the lesson.

Poll Questions- Give to students before or at the beginning of the lesson in order the teacher to get a better understanding of the student's knowledge.
Performance
Definition- Performance assessments evaluate thinking skills and allows the teacher to evaluate each student and improve instruction. These assessments are based on everyday classroom activities that the students engage in.
