        Yes, and they are noticing similar trends.
        
        Recommend the student to the administration for further support and evaluation. If they do not determine that your student needs accommodations you still can complete the steps below.
        
        You can:
        
        Talk with their parents. How is the situation at home? What techniques have the parents used that could be helpful for understanding the child's specific situation? How would they recommend that you help? Is the child available for one-on-one extra help?
        Note that parents may not be receptive at first and might blame the school. Encourage them to see you as on the same team, working for the child's success. Ensure they feel comfortable bringing their child's needs to the institution as a whole.
        
        Meet with them for extra, one-on-one tutoring if the school provides time and space for this. Will need to work with parents to schedule time. Should be shared with the school in general.
        Let the student know that you care for them and want to see them succeed! Give them options to guide their own learning.
        
        Encourage the student to reach out for learning support or tutoring on their own. Let them take the initiative in order to expand their own investment in their education!
