"Children with orthopedic impairments have a wide range of characteristics that are specific to the underlying diagnosis. Therefore, it is difficult, perhaps even impossible, to generalize about the students in this category. For example, a child with a spinal cord injury could have immobility limited to one side of his or her body, just the arms or legs, or total paralysis. A child with cerebral palsy may have movement but need a wheelchair because he or she has slow, uncontrolled movements that make it difficult to walk." (Education, 2017)
