Introduction to EC language curriculum
Beyond 2 1/2 years of age begins a new period in the organization of language. It lasts about 6 years of age.
We assist the children through the prepared environment "CLASSROOM - CHILD - TEACHER"
From encoding to decoding
It's a developmental milestone which continue enhancing his phonological and phonemic skills.
All these skills has proven essential in children's abilities to express themselves, to writing and enjoy reading through their lives.
Children often encode (form) words before they decode (read) words.
Sandpaper letters.
The child is able to see the letter, feel it by tracing, and hear it's sounds.
Children are learning phonics as they associate the auditory patterns sounds with the corresponding visual representations letters.
Lower case, vowels are blue, and consonants are red/pink.
Movable alphabet.
Once the child knows 6 or 8 of the sand paper letters including one or two vowels, they are introduced to build 3 letter phonetic words "consonant / vowel / consonant"

Word building using objects or pictures clues.

Handwriting 1. tracing sandpaper letters or sand tray, 2.unlined chalkboard. 3. Practicing with the pencil on unlined paper. 4. lined chalkboard. 5. Lined paper
Oral games
Naming words, people, things, places, etc.
Phonetic reading materials
Word building of 4 or 5 phonetic words, blends and phonographs.

The more edges the shape has, the more difficult to trace
Are geometric shapes, made of two inserts (pink and blue with a knob) that when tracing them introduce the child to handwriting.
Phonological awareness: Allows a person to attend to discriminate, to remember, and manipulate sounds at the sentence, word, syllable, and phoneme level.
