Ecosystem-scale Data Collection, This is key to reach the scale necessary…
-
This is key to reach the scale necessary to inform about overall ecosystem health and at the same time generate a shift in the social fabric to build a connection with nature. This is why we engage a breadth of local and national stakeholders in data gathering, protection efforts and dissemination.
Conservation Action
Data from conservation actions taken can be fed back into the pathway to assess impact and guide on necessary new approaches.
-
Conservation technologies such as acoustic devices, camera traps, field eDNA techniques, and citizen science apps can allow us to develop solutions to both monitor & protect rainforest wildlife.

Mission
To Protect, Restore & Safeguard Osa's Wildlife for Future Generations
This pathway will help to guide conservation actions for the region. Such as: restoration of degraded habitats to rebuild ecosystem connectivity, rewilding lost populations to re-establish ecosystem function, preventing poaching & building functional corridors to higher-elevations so that species can adapt to a changing climate.

Although diminishing, the Osa continues to be a target location for poaching of key megafauna:
White-lipped peccary, Tapir, Paca & Spider Monkey.
-
-
Elevation gradients provide ecosystem resilience by allowing wildlife to move up in a warming climate. Right now the corridor path to higher elevations isn't functional.
