      - Cholesterol makes hormones that are good for our body
      - It produces bile which is good for digesting fat and absorbing important nutrients
    - - Foods high in saturated fats tend to increase LDL cholesterol (Bad Cholesterol) which have been linked to coronary heart disease.
        
        It also forms fatty deposits in your arteries which increases the risk of heart disease and stroke.
      - You will also have chest pain along with it
  - - - Even though our body needs cholesterol, it can make its own, so it is not necessary to consume cholesterol in our diet.
      - LDL Cholesterol is bad cholesterol. It can build up in your arteries and cause several problems.
      - HDL Cholesterol is good cholesterol, it cleans excess cholesterol from your body.

- - - - Once she had enough money, she finished her master's degree in a year, and then enrolled in Columbia University as a doctoral student in 1944. She observed how the body's chemicals support digestion of food at University. In 1947, she finished her doctorate, becoming the first African-American woman to do so in the United States.
        
        She returned to Columbia in 1955, working on the causes of heart attacks with Dr. Quentin Deming. They disclosed the relationship with clogged arteries and high cholesterol. It was an outstanding work and was relocated to Albert Einstein College.
        
        Daly helped efforts to get students of different colors into medicals schools and started a scholarship in honor of her father in 1988 for minority students.
        
        Marie Maynard Daly married Vincent Clark in 1961, and had no children. She retired from Albert Einstein College in 1986, and received many rewards. Sadly, she died in New York City on October 28, 2003.
