Arab:
Characteristics:
Arab referred to any of the largely nomadic Semitic inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula.
The Arab world stretches across over 20 countries and is made up by more than 200 million people.
All Arabs are Muslims.
The majority of Arabs continue to live in small, isolated farming villages, where traditional values and occupations prevail
Kurd:
Characteristics:
Kurds were mostly nomadic until the end of World War I and the breakup of the Ottoman Empire.
Its population is from approximately 25-30 million (some Kurds reside outside of Kurdistan)
Most are Sunni Muslims; some practice Sufism, a type of mystic Islam.
Kurds make up about 10% of the population in Syria, 19% of the population of Turkey, 15-20% of the population of Iraq and are the second largest ethnicity in Iran.
Persian:
Characteristics:
Those belonging to the Persian ethnic groups speak the native western dialect of Persia known as “Farsi” today.
Around 500-900 AD, Iranians invented windmills that would have been used to grind grain or draw up water.
The majority of Iranians belong to the Persian ethnic group which constitutes over 60% of the population today.
Through the years, the language has evolved and has become the modern language that it is today. Primarily it is spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and certain areas of Uzbekistan.
Turk:
Characteristics:
Their most important cultural link, aside from history and language, is with Islam.
They are historically and linguistically connected with the Tujue.
With some exceptions, notably in the European part of Turkey and in the Volga region, the Turkic peoples live in Asia.
The vast majority of Turkic peoples are Muslim.
Azerbaijani:
Characteristics:
Ot has a mixture of Turkic, Iranian, and Caucasian influences.
approximately 92% of the total Azerbaijan population are Azerbaijani.
Most Azerbaijani practice the shared religion of Shia Islam
his is a Turkic ethnic group, and in fact one of the largest groups of Turkic people in Eastern Europe.
