primary source means the source that was created during the time of events .

BCE and CE
BCE means before common era which means an era before Jesus Christ was born and CE means common era which defines the era where Jesus was born.
7 historical concepts
significance
e.g. movements, people, historical sites, development and discoveries
it means importance assets of the past.
evidence
eg. the people who lived in that time,letters and diaries
evidence is the information gathered from historical sources
cause and effect
eg. The great wall of china was built because they wanted to prevent northern invaders like Mongols. The wall was successful and it prevented a Mongols invasions.
Cause and effect aims to identify,examine and analyse the reason why events have occurred and the resulting consequences or outcome.
empathy
empathy helps us to understand the impact of past events on a particular individual or group.
e.g. the ancient Chinese custom of foot binding can be better understood by putting yourself in the position of those who did it.
continuity and change
continuity and change can be seen across every civilisation and any given period of time.
when some things stay the same while others change.
contestability
it relates to explanation of past events events that are open to debate.
e.g. Artefacts, such as cave painting or artwork, may have been damaged or incomplete
Perspective
eg. many people today would share the belief that slavery is wrong
Perspective is the point of view - the position from which people see and understand events going on in the world around them.

Intro to Narrabeen Man
Narrabean was an aboriginal that was found at construction site at a bus stop. His remains were 4000 years old with spear tips found in his bone which indicates that he was murdered with spears lots of times. His last meal that he ate was fish because scientist found the remains of fish bones in his stomach.

Why do we need to protect important historical sources?
To learn the mistake that people made in the past so we won't do the same mistake.

Some ways we can protect historical areas/items
Put a fence around.
Put it in a protective bag.
Restrict people from touching things.

he was an important aboriginal man that lived 42 thousand years ago.
The reason why he is important is because his remains were evidence that proved that aboriginal people had lived in Australia a long time.

Ancient Rome started at 753 BCE to 476 CE and it was founded in Italy.

Rulers
Their rights is that they had more power than the lower social hierarchy.
Their responsibility is to take care of the people.

they are allowed to own slaves
most plebeians became soldiers or part of the army

They have to take care of children.
Patricians
They were allowed to own lands
They hold the responsibility in the politician.
Foreigners
Not allowed to vote.
Their responsibility is to not break the law
