Drugs used
Ace Inhibitors / ARB
Adverse effects : Worsening renal function, hyperkalaemia, cough, angioedema
Beta blockers
decrease heart rate & contraction force, decrease cardiac output.
Adverse effects : Asthma, bradycardia, heartblock, heart failure, intermittent claudication
Calcium channel blockers
vasodilation, amlodipine, varapamil, reduce contractility & heart rate.
Adverse effects : edema, constipation, verapamil = bradycardia, heart failure
Diuretics
Thiazides
worsen diabetes, gout, hyponatraemia, hypokalaemia

Loop diuretics
used in heart failure, severe Na/K depletion, may worsen renal function
