Suggestopedia Method
Its author is Georgi Lozanov. It´s a teaching method based on comfort and suggestology. Suggestopedia is especifically for learning a second language. As a main characteristic, it has a background music during classes. The purpose is to lose the fear os mistakes and shame. This method do enphasize in authority beacuse of that students see to their teacher as a reliable source of information. It consists in a relationship as a dads and sons.
KEY FEATURES OF SUGGESTOPEDIA
THE USE OF MUSIC:
The use of classical music during class creates a relaxed environment where the student acquires more knowledge.
PERIPHERAL LEARNING:
The student is made aware of the presence of didactic material for their learning.
COMFORTABLE OR COZY ENVIROMENT :
the classroom is comfortable for the students, the tables give a semicircle shape for more attention.
FREE ERRORS:
Mistakes are acceptable. The student is not scolded for making them, because it focuses on the student learning in a pleasant environment.
LIMITED HOME ASSIGNMENT:
The student reads the activity I do at school again at home, because at home she is more relaxed
INTEGRATION OF MUSIC, DRAMA & ART:
The musical background in the classroom makes the student relaxed when learning.
ROLE OF TEACHER IN SUGGESTOPEDIA:
Despite the fact that this method is applied to the student, the teacher plays a fundamental role in learning it. The teacher should remain positive towards the student throughout the class and respond with empathy to the student who does not quickly grasp their teaching.
ROLE OF STUDENT IN SUGGESTOPEDIA:
The student must remain relaxed and not try to manipulate the didactic and auditory material of the teacher if he does not provide it, on the other hand, he must be very active and participate in class.
