How do we do it - Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence
Valid- The assessment must cover all required evidence that must be deemed competent or not competent.
Fair and Flexible - timing that allows candidates to complete the assessment that fits the clients needs. Candidates are assessed at the correct AQF level, not overly complex or below the benchmarks on training.gov.au
Reliable- Clear and complete instructions on what is being assessed and how it is being done for candidates and to make assessment consistent with all assessors.

How do we do it - administrative process
Assessment tools to check for competency - such as an observation checklist
RTO will submit a written document containing RPL requirements for candidates to meet. Candidates contact RTO for conversations on providing sufficient evidence which is valid, sufficient, authentic and current.
RTO conducts an eligibility interview and has a conversation with the candidates to determine what training if any they require and whether they can provide sufficient evidence which is valid, sufficient, authentic and current.
Assessors at the RTO need analyse the RPL application to check for competency
