How do we define racism?
Macro level: The national definition of racism in the United States.
Meso level: How racism is educated in schools and how does that differ among regions. Also, how racism is taught to children by parents in the United States.
Micro level: Ask various racial individuals in the United States of what kinds of things they would understand as racism in their country.
What ultimate goal is BLM movement trying to achieve?
Macro level: How the U.S. government is taking action in order to put an end to the protests
Meso level: Survey the black community and non-black community's incentives to participate in such a violent protest
Micro level: Interview participants of the BLM movement and discuss kind of national system or structure would ultimately satisfy them to the extent that they would end the protests.
What are the connections of Covid-19 outbreak and racism in the U.S.?
Macro level: How the Covid-19 financial/medical problems were dealt under the law.
Meso Level: The number of patients in America hospitals that were able to receive treatment sorted in to racial categories
Micro Level: A survey to Americans sorted in to race, asking about how they experienced the Covid-19 outbreak. (were they able to successfully incorporate social distancing? were they able to access health care when needed?)
Are the Japanese aware of systemic racism and how that is one of the core concepts of the violent protests in the United States?
Micro level: Nation-Wide survey in Japan, asking individual Japanese what kind of racism they think occurs in the United States and its frequency.
Meso level: the concept of racism in the United States expressed in Japanese media
Macro level: Japanese governmental documents that speak about racism in the United States.
Is looting a bigger problem than the protest itself now?
Macro level: What are the strategies (enforcement of law and authority) that are taken nation-wide in order to eliminate the looting, and how it may be different in terms of priority compared to the government response towards the BLM movement
Meso level: How many industries are affected by the looting, and to what extent are they effected negatively
Micro level: Interview people in the street, whether they think looting is a bigger problem than the protests
