Analyze the headline
do the facts of the story line up? If theres a quote from a famous person look it up. Are the quotes in context?
Does the story attack a general enemy?
Check the author- stories with no author or a psuedoname deserve scrutiny
Whats the support? Are there credible sources
Check the photos through a search engine, who's really pictured?
Check the date.
check your sense of humor- are you sure it isn't a joke?
check your biases
are other reputable news sources reporting on the story?
