PLASTIC FORMING TECHNIQUE
CALENDERING
Process of squeezing a plastic melt between two or more counter rotating cylinder or roles to form a continuous film and sheet
TYPE OF PRODUCT
Rubber sheet
Floor tile
shower curtain
Luminuous ceilings
COMPRESSION MOULDING
process in which a molding polymer is squeezed into preheated mold taking a shape of the mold cavity and perfroming curing due to heat and pressure applied to the material
TYPE OF PRODUCT
Epoxies
Brush and mirroe handles
Meter cases
trays
INJECTION MOULDING
the injection molding process required the uses of an injection moulding machine, raw material and a mould. Raw material is fed into a mould cavity whereit cooled and harden into the shape of the mould
TYPE OF PRODUCT
Cups and cointaainer
tools handles
electrical and communications component
BLOW MOULDING
is used to create hollow plastic parts by inflating a heated plastic tube until it fills a mold and forms the desired shape. The raw material in this process is thermoplastic in a form of small palletes which first melt down and formed into a hollow tube called the parrison. the parrison is clamped between two bottle blowing mold halves and inflated by pressuring air until :it comforms to the inner shapes of the mold cavity. lastly the plastic is cooled the blowing mold will be seperated and the product are ejected
TYPE OF PRODUCT
PLASTIC BOTTLE
cosmetic bottle
plastic jug
THERMOFORMING
Process is used to shape thermoplastic sheet into discrete parts. The basic principle: heat a thermoplastic sheets until it soften, forced the hot and pliable material against the countours of a mold by using either mechanical or vacuum pressure and held it against mold and allow to cool and plastic retain its shape :
TYPE OF PRODUCT
disposible cups
trays
PULTRUSION
is a continuous Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) process for the manufacture of product having constant cros section such as structural shapes, beams, channels, pipes, etc.Pultrusion produced profiles with exremely high fibre loading thus pultruded product have high structural properties and process high strenth to weight ratio
FILAMENT WINDING
Process to produced a hollow(cylindical) shape,Filament winding is an automated method for creating composite structures by winding filaments under tension over a rotating mandrel (tool). The fibre placement is guided by a machine with two or more axes of motion
TYPE OF PRODUCT
pipers
pipe joint
pressure vessel
storage tant
ROTATIONAL MOULDING
TYPE OF PRODUCT
traffic divider
kayaks,kanoes and boats
toys and playground equipment
a plastics moulding technology which is ideal for making hollow articles. It is a casting technic but unlike most other plastics processes there is no pressure involved.
BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION
this extrusion process generally comprises extrusion of molten thermoplastic tube and its constant inflation to severaltimes of its initial diameter. This forms a thin, tubular product which may be used directly, or indirectly by slitting it to create a flat film.
TYPE OF PRODUCT
LAMINATING FILM (PACKEGING MILK)
AGGRICULTURAL FIRM (GREENHOUSE FILM)
INDUSTRY PACKEGING (BAG FILM)
TRANSFER MOULDING
a process in which a pre-weighed amount of a polymer is preheated in a separate chamber (transfer pot) and then forced into a preheated mold through a sprue, taking a shape of the mold cavity and performing curing due to heat and pressure applied to the material.
Type of product
Wind turbine blades
Hydrolic industry
EXTRUSION
The extrusion process is similar to injection moulding. Plastic granules are heated in a hopper and a screw thread forces the material through a die.The material is then cooled. Extrusion can only be used for simple shapes and the end product generally has a poor quality finish.
TYPE OF PRODUCT
PIPES
curtain rails
