FORMING METHODS
Rotational Molding
Type of products: large hollow products, medical equipment, automotive parts
Working principle:
- Heating plastic inside a hollow shell-like mold.
2.Melted plastics form a coating on the internal surface of the mold.
- When rotating mold is cooled down, plastics solidified to desired shape.
- Mold is removed.
Type of polmers: PVC, nylon, polyethylene, prolypropylene
Blow Molding
Type of products: Automotive fuel tanks, toys, recyclable bottles
Working principle: Heated plastic is blown into a mold cavity to create a hollow object.
- Melt the resins in extruder.
- Molten resins is formed into parison (tube).
- The parison is placed inside the mold and inflated.
- The part is allowed to cool down and ejected.
- Trim the ejected part.
Type of polymers: LDPE, HDPE, PVC, PP, PET
Blown Film Extrusion
Type of product: Packaging Film, containers liner, silage film.
Working principle: 1. A tube of molteen polymer is extuded through a die. 2. Inflating several times its initial diameter to form a thin bubbles. Bubbles collapsed by the collapsing guides.
Type of polymers: PP, polyethylene, EVOH
Injection Molding
Type of polymers: Thermoplastic, thermosetting plymers, elastomer
Type of products: Bottle caps, tables, pocket combs, storage containers
Working principle: Producing parts by injecting material into a mold. Molten polymer is injected into mold and solidified to get desired shape.
Transfer Molding
Type of products: Automotive, construction, aircraft, furniture

Calendering
Type of products: Floor tile, shower curtains continuous flooring, shower curtains
Working principle: A heated softened polymer is squishes between 2 or more rollers to form continuous sheet.

Extrusion
Type of products: Wet insulations, pipes, plastic film
Working principle:
- Pellets and granules are fed into barrel from hopper.
- Rotating screw inside the barrel forces out molten plastic through a die.
- Extruded materials take shapa follow cross-section of die.
Type of polymers: PVC, PE, Polypropylene, acetal, acrylic, nylon, polystyrene, polycarbonate and others.
Pultrusion
Type of product: Tubes, rods, ladders, gratings
Working principle:
- Continuous rovings are impregnated with resins.
- Pull through heated die
- Curing
- Puller pull the whole system.
Type of polymers: thermosetting polymer, vinylester, polyurethane, polyester
Compression Molding
Type of products: Brush, minor handles, kitchenware
Working principle:
- Granulated material is placed in a heated mold.
- Press compress the material into the shape of the mold.
- Remove the mold and eject the shaped components.
Type of polymers: Thermoset, advanced composite thermoplastics
Filament winding
Type of products: Golf sticks, bicycke rims, pipes
Working principle: Winding filaments under tension over a rotating mandrel rotating around the spindle.

Thermoforming
Type of products: Disposable cups, lids, blisters
Working principle: 1. Heat a plastic sheet or film.
- By process of vaccuum and air pressure, pull down the sheet over a solid mold to get the desired shape.
