guitar storage
function
the storage system should have a display area where the user can see into the cabinet in order to display the guitar inside,
-
there should be a stand inside the display system that keeps the product off the ground and holds it in place.
there could be an spotlight inside the cabinet that shines upon the guitar in order to display it in a better light.**text**
there needs to be other smaller sections within the storage that can hold all of the other guitar related products such as the amp, the lead and the picks
there could be areas where the leads that connect the amp and the guitar together can run through to prevent them from being disconnected and connected every time the user wants to play their guitar.
materials
-
the materials must be strong so that the product will not break. the products that the storage system will have inside it, such as a the guitar an the amp, are heavy.
the material must be easy to cut into shape, such as a wood. metals are a lot harder to form into desired shapes and designs.
the materials that the storage system is made from, must look attractive. the product will be stored in peoples home as displays, therefore must be made from high quality looking materials.
ergonomics
the storage should be made to a size that does not take up too much space, yet doesn't get lost in a room.
-
the user should be able to move the whole cabinet around. this means that it should be light so that the wheels it may be on, can hold it up.
aesthetics
the goal of a display system is to enhance the design of the product inside. therefore my product should not look too glamorous as it would take the attention away from the guitar that it is storing.
the storage should have a glass display area where the user can look inside and see their guitar. this is a necessity when designing a display storage.
health and safety
there will need to be health and safety precautions in place in order to abide by laws during the manufacturing process.
the product should be designed so that it cannot harm the user by accident. this can be solved by less sharp edges or a high quality finish in order to protect the user from splinters.
costs
the product should be made in a way that maximises profits. this means not spending too much money in the designing and manufacturing process.
some of the most expensive things will be glass, for the display area, and the electrical products that might be running through the inside.
manufacturing
-
the manufacturing process should be easy to repeat. this will mean that once the initial product has been made, the process can be repeated over and over again.
