The Nature Of Science is the way science works and what it is I guess

The Scientific Method

Test the prediction with an experiment

3) Form a hypothesis or testable prediction

2) Ask a question

1) Make an observation

Make a conclusion

Share results

the act of noticing something from something seen or experienced

Your question should be worded so that it can be answered through experimentation

A hypothesis is a potential answer to the question, one that can somehow be tested. It is not necessarily the answer, it is made to see if it is correct or if you need a new hypothesis.

4) Make a prediction

A prediction is what you think will happen if your hypothesis is correct

To test the hypothesis perform an experiment related to the prediction

The results of a test may either support or contradict a hypothesis. Reflect on your results and use these reflections to draw a conclusion and to guide your next questions.

Share your results with others so they can learn from your findings or suggest ideas for future experiments.

Research

Research background knowledge or information needed to make an educated hypothesis

Scientific knowledge

There is no universal set of steps to conduct science experiments but the scientific method is widely recognized as the loose set of rules usually followed

Scientific knowledge is always liable to change

Scientific knowledge is subjective and based on theory as well as experiments

Observations are theory laden

Science is a culture? Cult? I don't even know but it involves scary people who all know science stuff running around in lab coats and shouting Eureka. Even though science is subjective it does involve a number of shared values and perspectives that help develop a scientific approach to understanding nature.

Scientific knowledge is reliable and subject to change at the same time. Having confidence in scientific knowledge is sensible, but you should also realize scientific knowledge can get outdated easily due to new discoveries.
