Diagnostic
Pretest- Allows teachers to identify students misconceptions before teaching the topic. Then track students growth with a post assessment.
Running record- This test allows teachers to identify the students reading level based on fluency and comprehension.
Definition- Pre-assessment exam to understand students strengths, and weaknesses. Allows teacher to adjust instruction to meet students needs
Interim/ Benchmark

Definition- Formal test a few times a semester meant to establish baseline achievement and track students growth and set academic goals.
Summative
Definition- Formal assessment meant to evaluate students learning at the end of a unit or six weeks. These are usually worth a lot of points.

Performance
Debates- Teaches students about various viewpoints while acquiring skills like research, evidence, and reading skills.
Definition- A form of testing in which students perform a test to demonstrate knowledge instead of completing multiple choice test.
Report- Requires students to use higher levels of thinking such as synthesis, and analysis.
Formative
Definition- Informal assessment meant to monitor students learning by providing feedback and adjusting instruction to improve their learning.
Exit ticket- Students write a few sentences answering a questions to reflect on their learning and objective.
