Intelligence test measure our intelligence
Deaf were thought of as less intelligent compared to hearing individuals

Visual learning
The deaf use their eyes to think and learn
They learn through visual experiences versus hearing experiences like hearing people do
The deaf have the same ability to see as any other person
small class sizes with desks put in a semi - circle around the teacher with a consistent visual environment is best for deaf students
Memory and learning
The deaf use memory to learn
They use their experiences as a connection and it allows them to learn from it by remembering
They are able to memorize many things but are not good at memory tasks
Reading & writing
Reading and writing are useful for the deaf
It's a tool for thinking and learning
deaf people would carry a pencil and a piece of paper for if they needed it but now in days they don't have to because they have access to their smartphones
Deaf children with deaf parents find it easier to read because of the early access to language
Deaf children with hearing parents have a more difficult time learning how to read
