Tips to follow Inclusive Language

Call someone in
- circle out a negative and bad comment to someone in private
- You can send them videos and articles to explain the stereotype (so they understand clearer) or just call them and explain it bothers you their comments.
- You can email or message someone to explain why you feel offended with a comment they made “against” you
Call someone out
- you make a negative and bad comment to someone in public
- Learn how to listen and hear others. Thank them for their honesty and comments; show them you heard them.
- It helps you to be heard (it is better if more than one person in involved so they can pay more attention to you)

According to Plihcik (2020) racism has four meanings:
- “Social and institutional power & prejudice”
- “A system of advantage based on race”
- “A system of oppression based on race”
- “It is a white supremacy system created by independent on an all class collaboration called white created to end across racial Alliance and labor solidarity”
Example of racism: John Punch’s story
- He was an African indentured servant
- He ran away with a dutchman and scots man, but they were caught
- The dutchman and the scot man were sentenced to 4 additional years of servitude and John Punch was sentenced to perpetual servitude
- He received the worst punishment just for being black and respecting the white race
