It is easier for signing deaf child to develop social and cognitive skills since they rely on their vision heavily
For teachers ASL is essential due to the visual aids by helping them develop math and science explanations
Language and Reading
Academic language is more formal and introduced at school although Deaf enter school with knowledge about both.
Since most deaf children are born to hearing at first they'll force spoken language on them, which usually doesnt work
Conversational language is more informal, learned at home.
Parents use eye gazing to get attention, read, and lang.

Thinking
Deaf children who sign since birth have equal ToM as hearing and those who don't have access to covos at home have delayed ToM
It is harder for Deaf to remember numbers and printed words but they're better than hearing at remembering faces and visual info
Since Deaf people don't have full access to language when they're born, their thinking skills are developed to their full potential
