Dump and Fill activity from Jean Barbe Book, pg. 150. Indoor large group activity. Materials- small and large unbreakable containers, items for filling and dumping such as large beads, toy farm animals, ABC blocks, and pegs, books. Indoor large group activity- Toddlers can learn together about how many items can fit into the containers before dumping them out, and can explore with different sized toys and items such as ABC blocks, shapes, weights, and the sounds they make when they are placed inside, shaken and dumped. Books can be introduced to learn about different sounds and new vocabulary. Children are able to build a sense of self and confidence when they fill, count and find ways to place new items inside the containers.
