Classification - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Arthropods: chitin exoskeleton (protects and prevents evaporation), segmented body, jointed appendages and antennae (contain sense organs)
        
        Crustaceans: 10 or more legs (5 or more pairs), hard calcified shell, no antennae, no wings and usually live in water
        
        Myriapods: 18 or more legs (9 or more pairs), long, thin body, antennae and no wings
        
        Arachnids: 4 pairs of 8 legs, 2 body sections (cephalothorax and abdomen), no antennae and no wings
        
        Insects: 3 pairs of 6 legs, 3 body sections (head, thorax and abdomen), antennae and some have wings
    - - Mammals: aquatic or terrestrial, lungs to breathe oxygen, hair on skin, give birth to live young (few exceptions), produce milk from mammary glands to feed young and endothermic (warm blooded)
      - Amphibians: aquatic and terrestrial phases of life, go through metamorphosis, have gills to absorb oxygen as tadpoles and lungs to breathe oxygen as adults, moist, mucus covered skin, lay jelly coated eggs in water (external fertilization) and ectothermic (cold blooded)
      - Birds: terrestrial, lungs to breathe oxygen, feathers, hard, calcified shelled eggs, lay eggs on and (internal fertilization), use upper limbs to fly and endothermic (warm blooded)
      - Reptiles: aquatic or terrestrial, lungs to breathe oxygen, hard scales on skin, soft skinned eggs, lay eggs on land (internal fertilization) and ectothermic (cold blooded)
      - Fish: aquatic, gills to absorb oxygen from water, scales, fins and a tail, most lay eggs (external fertilization) and ectothermic (cold blooded)
