Definition: These are assessments used to determine whether a student is on track with their learning in order to determine whether they would master a future assessment. (This is what I like to call a "progressing" (hopefully) assessment).
Definition: as assessment that requires students to perform task instead of doing a "traditional" paper and pencil exam.

- FORMATIVE
Definition: A formative assessment is a method used to assess the students in order to get feedback in order to use it to modify and adjust instruction. Keeping in mind that these type of assessments have little to no grade value.

The teacher would ask a question and tell the students to turn and talk to their partner about the potential answer this is used as a form to also reflect on the lesson.
These "tickets" would be used so that the student can reflect on how they feel or leaned on the days learning.
This is a computerized to show student achievement in math and reading.
Texas Standardized text that is given to assess students knowledge learned and the achievements at their grade level.
- SUMMATIVE
Definition: They are used to evaluate student learning at the end of a unit. These assessments have a high grade point value.

These assessments are used to evaluate what the student has learned for a period of time and whether or not they have mastered what was taught.
These quizzes are used to determine if the student has mastered the content being taught.
Students will have a hands on creation in order to check for their understanding using their skills they have learned from the unit.
This will usually be in a form of a lecture, demonstration or panel discussion about a specific topic or concept

These are used to determine what the students strengths and weaknesses are in reading fluency.
This is done before the beginning of a unit, so that the teacher knows what they have to plan for (students needs) before they begin teaching the actual lesson.
