The Periodic Table
-
Arrangement
Order
By proton number, starting from 1 (Hydrogen) to IDK.
Periods
-
Indicate the number of electron shells. For example, atoms in period 2 havo 2 shells.
Groups
Columns numbered from 0 to VII, that indicate the number of "valency" or outer-shell electrons (exception: Group 0)
-
Main Groups
Group 0: Noble Gases : Non metals- He, Ne, Ar, Kr & Xe.
-
-
-
Group 1: Alkali Metals:Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr
Reactivity
-
-
They are reactive due to the need of gaining stability (loosing 1 electron). Therefore, they form ionic compounds
Physical Properties
Overview: soft (cut with knife), rare metals, low density (float in water) and low boiling/melting points.

-
The elements
Artificial elements: Mainly in lower block, from Np to Lr.
-
Their atoms break down quickly, hence their are reactive.
